Two years after being injured, and despite my own yoga and movement practices and the help of several healers : osteopath, PT, acupuncturist , my walking was unbalanced with a limp, my range of motion was limited to very small steps.

Then, I met Nina Be. With her clear eye she found the where, how and when the blockade occurred : an emotional wound trapped in my body a very long time ago-recurring with life events. I didn't explain anything nor did I tell her the story. She just watched me standing, walking and she figured out the core meanings of my injury : what was held and the resonance in my body, my limbs, my organs. Her sharp eye worked like an MRI that would be able to diagnose and also find solutions.

I went for 3 sessions, and I encountered genuine generosity. She accompanied me. The first session unlocked my hip and released the emotions that were stuck inside, they went out very softly, very peacefully..The second one I relearned the pleasure of walking. In the third one I learned I could go forward.

This work goes beyond psychosomatics, yoga therapy. I didn't talk nor did I take yoga poses. Nina uses her extended knowledge about yoga, energy and trauma to tailor what is necessary at the very moment. For me her work is close to applied philosophy on how to take what life is. She put me in relaxation positions stabilized with sand bags with comforting weight at strategic parts of my body. I remember she said : "here we do not want any pain" . And she described what my locked body position would express to her.Then my hips, my liver, my lungs, my heart unlocked like a domino. I found my body and my mind attuned in peace.

I am a neuroscientist trained in integral yoga and despite my knowledge and my practice I wasn't able to see and unlock what was hidden in my hip- My luck was to meet a generous healer in Nina Be.I went home with materials to use to stabilize what was done during the sessions.

As the Director of centering.life & MindBody Centering Yoga, I offer the skills of a certified Mindfulness Meditation Coach, somatic counselor, mother, spiritual activist, yoga therapist, writer/poet, restaurateur, artist and performer.

I have been mentoring, teaching, choreographing and designing wellness programs internationally for over 35 years. My MBCY RYT 100/200/300/500 hour Trauma-informed Yoga Certification Programs under Yoga Alliance are offered online.

As the Founder of LiveGlobally- 501(c)(3), established in 2011, the vision of quelling children’s global poverty through the practice of mindful yoga and non-violence, has brought hundreds of supporters together. Together, we have mobilized traumatized communities in supporting children and their communities in Nairobi, Kenya, Costa Rica, and The United States.

MBCYT incorporates the overarching principles of cognitive behavior and somatic principles. The MBCYT approach creates harmony and ease in any individual and any relationship. Approaches like DBT// CBT may not address the support found in the body’s presence. 

MBCYT incorporates the body as part of the conversation of wellness because the body is always present.

MBCYT does not focus on problems that trap the thinking mind, hence the ‘racing mind’. ‘Racing mind' indicates flight or fight which needs to be grounded into the body.

MBCYT incorporates Carl Jung's concept of active imagination which has been found to be every human being’s most powerful resource for healing.

Your MBCYT Process


I recommend that you commit to at least 4 MBCYT sessions. You will experience the potential of your focused attention to self-care. 

Here is how we will spend our time::

Session 1:: Introduction to MindBody Centering Yoga Therapy Techniques~ Integrating your family, social and cultural history to begin understanding patterns of blocked energy that create feelings of compromise, depression, and anxiety. You will be introduced to practices of calming the mind, awareness to breathing, and basic yoga.

Session 2:: Realizing how crucial rest is for addressing exhaustion and stress. Observing your thoughts. Noticing agitation, aggression, or violence in your environment and self. Accepting that the Truth is being revealed in every experience. Observing and feeling negative thinking and habits of self-sabotage. 

Session 3:: Intentionally focusing on positive thoughts, by showing up for change, while working with emotions. Being proactive with a simple health plan to support body, mind, and emotions. How to stick with it… Creating small new behaviors to replace reactivity/negativity/stress/anxiety/sadness.

Session 4::  Practicing gratitude to strengthen your sense of self-worth by continuing to show up for your heart-centered life. Learning to transform suffering by feeling what is real in the Body with acceptance. Proclaiming your worth through your thoughts, words, and actions. Finding courage to stay awake in your precious life.
